The Partnership
Initiatives
The Partnership is the Chamber's economic development plan that deals with timely and vital issues affecting business and our community. The Chamber places a strong value on interaction and cooperation with many diverse partners, including private businesses, Shelby County officials, municipal and state officials and Shelby County citizens. We have learned that it is more effective to achieve success through such partnerships.
Task forces are perfect opportunities for those Chamber members who wish to focus intensely on a short-term project. The Chamber currently maintains task forces or subcommittees in the following areas:
- Transportation
- Education/Workforce Development
- Strategic Business Development
- Governmental Affairs
- Tourism - Visit the official Shelby County Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Website
Follow any of the links above to read more about each initiative and how you can become involved. The success of The Partnership Initiatives relies on business professionals eager to share their time, talents and leadership skills toward the common goal of "One Vision One Voice" for Shelby County.
The Partnership offers Chamber members several opportunities to be involved. It is recommended to commit to a full year on a committee assignment to reach maximum effectiveness and enjoyment. Members of the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce may apply for one or more committees; however, some committees have more frequent meeting schedules and require more involvement than others.
The Chamber recommends interested applicants to contact Jennifer Trammell, President / CEO of the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce (205) 663-4542 to discuss your areas of interest and find out more about the initiatives of The Partnership.
